Horsefair flats roof conversion

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council chose a flat to pitched roof conversion as its solution to overcome long-standing problems of poor drainage, ponding and water penetration through a variety of flat roof structures, as part of a total area regeneration scheme.

The Authority specified a lightweight roof system to support profiled metal sheet cladding, most notably on high rise blocks of flats at Greenwood House and St. Michael‘s House, Wakefield and at Horsefair Flats in Pontefract, comprising of Lewis Walsh House, Violet Pritchard House, Thomas Hill House and George Wright House.

This has provided the client with low-maintenance, watertight roofs that will protect the buildings‘ structure and also enhances the shape of the buildings and city skylines for many years to come.
